Co-funding support for projects that bring people, colour, and creativity into the heart of Richmond
Purpose
To support community-led projects and events that activate the Richmond CBD, draw foot traffic, and enhance the vibrancy of the town centre. This fund offers up to 50% matched funding for eligible initiatives that align with Richmond Unlimited’s goals of a thriving, energetic, and people-focused main street.
What We Fund
Projects that:
Attract locals and visitors to the CBD
Encourage community participation and pride
Support local businesses and hospitality
Enhance the aesthetics and liveliness of public spaces
Introduce new experiences to the town centre
Examples include:
Pop-up events, markets, or micro-festivals
Public art installations or murals
Live music or performance activations
Themed trails or scavenger hunts
Seasonal decorations or interactive displays
Unique collaborations between retailers, artists, and community groups
How Funding Works
Applicants can apply for up to 50% of their total project cost, with a maximum contribution of $1,500 per project.
The remaining 50% must be matched by the applicant — either in cash or in-kind (volunteer time, materials, venue space, etc.).
Applications will be assessed on alignment with vibrancy goals, public benefit, innovation, and feasibility.

Application Process
Submit Proposal: Simple online application with project plan, budget, timeline, and match contribution.
Assessment Panel: Richmond Unlimited reviews applications monthly.
Funding Agreement: Successful applicants receive a funding agreement outlining deliverables and accountability.
Project Delivery: Funds are released upon confirmed delivery or milestone achievement.
Selection Criteria
Vibrancy Impact: Does the project bring people into the CBD and make the space more engaging?
Community Benefit: Does it serve a broad audience or encourage community pride?
Creativity & Innovation: Is it fresh, bold, or different?
Partnerships: Are local businesses, artists, or groups collaborating?
Feasibility: Is the project realistically deliverable with the proposed resources?
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Funding is subject to availability and project alignment with Richmond Unlimited goals.
Richmond Unlimited must be acknowledged in all promotional material.
Projects must be delivered within 6 months of funding confirmation.
A short accountability report, including photos and outcomes, is required after delivery.
